Racine – Zonia O'Brien, 45, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Franklin on Monday, February 10, 2014. Zonia was born in Tela, Honduras on July 12, 1968 to Juan Angel and Josefina Ameal Ochoa. She married James O'Brien on August 7, 1993. Zonia was employed by Krones where she worked in international customer service/sales. She loved to travel off-the-beaten path with her husband in search of adventure and excitement. Some of these places included Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, Machu Pichu and the Amazon. To add to their exciting adventures, Zonia and James had 3 sons: Sean Antonio (17), Christopher James (13), and Michael Alexander (9). Zonia is survived by her husband, James O'Brien; her sons, Sean Antonio, Christopher James and Michael Alexander O'Brien; and her mother and father: Juan Angel and Josefina Ameal Ochoa. Zonia is further survived by her brothers and sisters: Jose, Diomedes, Amilcar, Rodolfo, Delmi, and Adalid Ochoa. Zonia was a brave, strong and loving spirit. She demonstrated great courage through her battle with cancer and always kept a bright outlook. Her sweet spirit will live on in all who knew her. Memorial services for Zonia will be held at Racine Lutheran High School at 251 Luedtke Ave., Racine, WI on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 2 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. The service will start at 5pm with Pastor Cash Myers officiating. A reception will follow the service with food and beverages supplied.A Memorial will be setup to accept any donations. These will be collected in honor of Living Hope Lutheran Church that provided so much support through the course of Zonia's Cancer care, and Zonia's Angels of Hope, who will donate to a family with a child suffering from cancer.
