STURTEVANT – William Goodwin Thomas, 62, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Bill was born in Fall River, MA on April 25, 1954 to Grover W. & Joan M. (nee, Grow) Thomas. On July 7, 2007, Bill married his wife Carrol (Portwich). He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. for 10 years. He was employed by the Veterans Administration for 32 years, & had recently retired. Bill was an avid bow hunter, a member of the Waukegan Bowmen Club, & loved being outdoors. Bill was also a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast that loved riding with his wife Carrol, family, & friends. Survivors include his wife, Carrol Thomas; his daughters, Sarah Thomas-Miller and Ashley Portwich; his brother David (wife: Sue) Thomas; his sisters Katherine (husband: Tracy) Roberson, Marion (husband: William) Dawe; & his mother, Joan Thomas. Bill was preceded in death by his father Grover W. Thomas Jr. A private ceremony will take place.
