William E. Runge, Sr. FRANKSVILLE – William E. Runge, Sr., 87, passed away at Willowcrest Care Center in South Milwaukee on Monday, August 25, 2014. Bill was born in Racine on June 10, 1927 to Edwin R. and Martha (nee, Rosenbaum) Runge. He married the former Margaret "Marge" Botsch. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1945 until 1947. He had been employed by Hamilton Beach for over twenty years and retired from Burdick Construction. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 113 and American Legion Post 494. Survivors include his wife, Marge Runge; children, Renee (Randy) Jacobson, William E. Runge, Jr. and Jill (Carl) Kortendick; grandchildren, Jessica Runge, Katie (Rob) Knudson, Karla (Ethan) Lewis and Jenna Kortendick; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Elly and Lincoln. Bill is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lois Moraski. In keeping with Bill's wishes, a private family service was held. Inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post 494.
