William Emil Hansen'Skip' Racine - William Emil Hansen, 75, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan healthcare on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 William was born in Racine on July 7, 1932 to William and Mary (nee, Drummond) Hansen. After the death of his father, William was raised by his mother and stepfather, Warren Hamacher. He married the former Sylvia Pat 'Patty' Monfeli in Racine on May 14, 1955. They spent 52 wonderful years of marriage together. William served in the U.S. Air Force for five years. He was a Sheet Metal worker by trade and was actively involved in apprenticeships both during his career and in retirement. William was very active in supporting the union, serving as president. William loved to golf and spend time woodworking. He carved the Eagle located at the Marathon on the corner of Main Street and three Mile Road. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Pat 'Patty' Hansen; children, Mark Scott Hansen, Mary Jane (Robert) Marks and Linda (James) Gray; grandchildren, Luke Marks, Veda Evans, Jamie Gray, Damion Gray and Kelsey Gray; great-granddaughter, Savannah; and his sisters, Marilyn Fuller, Billie Marie (Robert) Cote and Penny (Jack) Zaden. William is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, step father, one brother, Jackie and sister, Bonnie. According to William's wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial services for William will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Barrows officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of one's choice have been suggested.
