Racine – William L. Fritchen, 88, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Tuesday September 3, 2013. William was born in Racine on November 20, 1924 to Harry and Gertrude (nee, Burdick) Fritchen. He married the former Alice Marie Stellman on May11, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1999. William served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Crevalie in the South Pacific during WWII. He retired from the Racine Fire Department after more than twenty years. He also had worked for Sterling Tool for over twenty-five years. William is survived by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Dr. Cathy H. Fritchen and Dr. Robert W. Murray of Seattle, WA and Nancy A. Fritchen of Racine; and grandchildren, Ronald, Kevin, Alex and Graeme. William is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his little buddy, Boomer. In keeping with William's wishes, private family services were held with Full Military Honors. Entombment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. The family would like to thank Mona from Harmony Living Center for all of her wonderful care.
