William (Bill) Bradley
A veteran of the Vietnam War and resident of Union Grove, WI found peace, entering Eternal Life on Oct.5, 2023 at Age 80
Bill was born in Escanaba, Michigan to Robert and Evelyn (Hall) Bradley. He spent most of his childhood growing up on a farm with his sister Charlene and brother Bobby. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he was a Private, becoming a sharpshooter and small arms technician.
After coming home from the service, he worked as an engine lath and milling machinist within the Milwaukee area. Post retirement he moved to Northern, WI to return to the woods. He was best known for his love of the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who told many stories about his great catches. He was a very simple, outspoken, kind man who always took in a stray cat or two whenever he could. He loved to draw, paint, and play his harmonica for hours at a time.
Following A diagnosed illness in 2015 he became a resident at the Veterans Home in Union Grove Wisconsin. Upon his arrival he kept his independence by becoming a great gardener. He worked with Master Gardner volunteers who helped him create a beautiful garden of his own in the courtyard at Fairchild Hall. He took great pride in all of his vegetable crops proudly displaying and sharing them with staff and residents. While gardening he noticed the beauty of birdwatching and would stay in the courtyard from morning till night making sure all the feeders were full. He will always be remembered by his daughter as a real-life Grizzly Adams.
Preceding him into Eternal Life was his father, mother, brother, and other relatives.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Charlene Fletcher brother-in-law (Floyd) nephew Rodney. Son, Dean Bradley. Daughter, Jackie Saldana son-in-law (Robert). Grandchildren Brittany, Anthony, Mia, Naomi, and Mariana.
Special thanks to all the nursing and administration staff at the Union Grove Veterans Home for all their love and care over the last eight years. Also, thank you to Aurora Hospice for all their care and comfort when most needed.
Private funeral service and Interment to be held Nov.3, 2023.
