William (Bill) R. Beresford , 89, passed away at Season's Hospice-Ignite Medical Resorts on Saturday, November 28, 2020.Bill was born in Racine on July 17, 1931 to William and Ruth (nee: Rollins) Beresford. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army –Korean War - from 1952-1954. Bill was employed as a lineman with AT&T for over 35 years, until his retirement in 1993. On February 21, 1990 he married Carol Beres. Bill was a "Ford Guy", who built and raced stock cars in his younger years. He enjoyed going on family camping trips, building and fixing cars, working in his yard and traveling to Florida to spend time with family. He is survived by his wife Carol Beresford, his children, Rollinda (Robert) Thomas (Wausau, WI), Jodi (Gary) Gatzke (Racine), Robin (Todd) Birdsall (Racine); William (Chris) Beresford (Arvada, CO), and Stepson, Randy (Melinda) Beres (Fort Meyers, FL), 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his sisters Maryalice Smith (Wauwatosa) and Patricia Hall (Lake Geneva). Bill is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A service with full military honors will be held in the spring at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
