Racine - Wayne L. 'Blackie' Schwartz, 80, passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on Monday, October 31, 2011. Blackie was born in Mercer, WI on October 31, 1931 to Raymond and Viola (nee, Kumke) Schwartz. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Rizzo on November 8, 1952. She preceded him in death on August 15, 1998. Blackie served in the U.S. Navy and retired from J.I. Case Company after more than thirty years of service. Blackie is survived by his son, Raymond (Vivian) Schwartz; grandchildren, Chago Chacon, George (Sharon) Cruz III and Nicole Marie (David, Jr.) Soto; great-grandchildren, Aundria, Julio, Arianna, Alina, David, Saleysia and Amelia; his brothers, Jack (Vi) Schwartz and Harley (Linda) Schwartz; and sisters-in-law, Lena Moore, Josephine (Paul) Morrison, Eleanor Rizzo and Shirley Wicker. Blackie is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Rizzo, George Moore, Marshall Rizzo and James Rizzo. Funeral services for Blackie will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
