Racine – Wayne W. Mattice, 62, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Monday, May 14, 2012. Wayne was born in Racine on November 12, 1949 to Wayne and Katherine (nee, Gertz) Mattice, Sr. He married the former Kathleen Running. Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Racine Instinctive Bowman. He loved his '70 Boss Mustang, but most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughters. He spent many hours teaching them, taking them places they wanted to see and they affectionately called him 'Bop'. Wayne is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mattice; children, Tina (Jeff) Coates and Bret (Dianna) Mattice; grandchildren, Katherine Coates, Delaney Coates, Victoria Coates, Ryan Dieter, Kylie Mattice and McKenzie Mattice; sisters, Marie (David) Schoen and Leatha (Tom) Mayes; and brother, Curtiss Mattice. Wayne is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Wayne's wishes, a private family service will be held followed by inurnment at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the wonderful nurses and staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for all of their care and compassion.
