RACINE – Walter Lee Vasey, 74, passed away at his residence on June 24, 2017. Walter was born in Milwaukee on August 12, 1942 to Howard Lee and Frances May (nee, Cotts) Vasey. On June 26, 1965, in Milwaukee, Walter married the former Patricia Ellen Peek. He served in the US. Navy and was employed by Pinkerton Security Services for over fifteen years, retiring in 2007. Walter loved to travel; loved owning a boat and being on the water. His favorite activities included fishing, gambling (scratch off tickets and power ball) and taking walks. He also loved old time movies, dinner theatre and fixing things such as cars and doing yardwork. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Vasey; daughters, Ann (Tim) Bothe, Katherine Vasey, Charlotte Vasey and Christina (Rick) Behr; grandson, Matthew Behr; sister, Iris Mueller; sister-in-law, Gladys Szitta; brother-in-law, Jerry Peek; and many nieces and nephews; the Don Mueller family, Bill Vasey family, Agnes Caroline family and the Carol Severson family. Walter is also survived by his favorite cats, Shakespeare and Juliette. He was preceded in death by his sons, James and Jeff; parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marjorie and Valta Peek; sisters, Carol and Agnes; brother, Bill; and his brothers-in-law, Don Mueller, Don Severson and Ed Coraline. Funeral services for Walter will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.
