Racine – Vivian J. Shellberg, 84, passed away at Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Vivian was born in Racine on June 24, 1929 to Frank and Frances (nee, Lexa) Beyer. In 1947 she married Charles F. Shellberg. He preceded her in death in 1989. Vivian was affectionately known as the "Sucker Lady" throughout the neighborhood for handing out suckers to all the kids for over twenty years. Survivors include her children, Sue (Bob) Running and Bruce Shellberg; former daughter-in-law, Nan Shellberg; grandchildren, Michelle Burbey, Jennifer Running and Rachel Shellberg; great-granddaughter, Darian Thomas; and great-grandsons, Nathaniel Novell and D.J. Smith. She is further survived by her brother, Donald Beyer; sister, Charlotte Brown; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Shellberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Vivian will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, March 25, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to one's favorite charity.
