Viola Dorothy OlsonAppleton - Viola D. Olson, 95 of Racine passed away on December 19, 2010 at Colony Oaks Care Center in Appleton after a battle with Alzheimer's.Vi was born in Racine on April 17, 1915 to the late Olle and Ann (Christianson) Olson. Vi never married, she was a devoted daughter to her parents especially to her mother after her father's passing in 1948. Vi graduated from Racine Park and went on to be an apprentice Beautician before making it her life long career. She was a Beautician for 50 years and worked at many salons in that time. The Capitol Salon (Owner Operator) Racine Dry Goods, Zahn's, and Zayre's all of Racine. Vi's survived by nephew's Ronald (Danna) Danoski of Surprise, AZ and Edward (Deborah) Danoski of Kaukauna, WI; sister-in-law, Jean Olson of Racine; and nephew, Kenneth Kwapil of Tarpon Springs, Fl.. Many great and great-great nieces and nephews in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Florida. Also her many caring neighbors on Elm Lane in Racine where she lived for 50 years, they all helped and protected Vi for many years. Vi was preceded in death by her parents Olle and Ann Olson; brothers, Delbert and Gilbert; sisters Louise Olson, Phyllis Danoski; brother -in-law, Edward Danoski; niece, Louise (Danoski) Kwapil. A funeral service for Vi will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.The family would like to thank the staff at Kindredhearts Assisted Living Center in Green Bay WI and Colony Oaks Care Center for making Vi's last years comfortable. Vi you're a very special and kind lady and you touched the hearts of many.
