Troy was born in Racine on April 1, 1965 to LeRoy and Karen (nee, Lorence) Schmidt. On August 18, 1990, Troy married the former Ann Schulz. He was employed by the Racine Water Department. Troy also had worked for many years for his friend Mike at Dykstra Brothers. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. Troy was always helping somebody and he loved doing side jobs with his friends, but most of all he loved his daughters and grandchildren. Family was everything to Troy. Survivors include his wife, Ann Schmidt; daughters, Amanda (Ian) Bordagaray, Shannon Schmidt and Ashley (Jordan) Baker; grandchildren, Adian, Rylee and Sydney Bordagaray, and Carson and Rylynn Baker; his brothers, Chad (JoAnn) Schmidt and Cory (Tara) Schmidt; and a special aunt and uncle, Shirley Fellion and Herbie Hotchkiss. Troy is further survived by his close friends, Wally Beltz, Danny Seitz, Chuck Jacobson and Mike Dykstra; his hunting buddies, John Paeth and Mark "Pepe" LaRue; his wonderful neighbors and all his brothers at the Racine Water Department and many more friends, too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Eva Schmidt, and Sydney and Florence Lorence. A funeral service for Troy will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, January 9, 2015 at 7 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. In honor of Troy the family asks that you wear blue jeans along with Packers, Badgers or hunting clothing. In lieu of flowers, Troy's wishes would be to have memorials directed to his Grandchildren's Benefit Fund which has been established at Racine Municipal Employees Credit Union. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to all of Troy's co-workers who were there for him on Friday.
