RACINE – Tomislav Djordjevic, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 18, 2016. Tomislav was born in Kamenica, Serbia on December 5, 1938 to Nikola and Georgina Djordjevic. He came to Racine in 1959 as the family was united and "broke bread" together for the first time in 19 years. On April 30, 1960, he married the former Donna Draga Stevoff. She preceded him in death on August 30, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his brother (Bogdon Djordjevic), his parents Nikola and Georgina, his father and mother-in-law (Kosta and Toda Stevoff) and brother in law (Kosta Bozinovski). Tomislav was first employed by the North Shore Railroad and then found employment as an electrician with Belle City/Racine Steel Castings and eventually J.I. Case Company/Case IH until his retirement in April 1991. After retirement he spent a lot of his time in Kamenica, where he truly enjoyed relaxing with friends and relatives from his childhood, in the village in which he was born, in addition to the making of Slivovitz (Plum Brandy) from the 20 hectors of Plum Fields that he had. He always came back to Racine for the holiday season to spend time with friends and family and in celebrating his religious Saint Day (Sveti Alimpije). He was a member of Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church of Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include his sons; Nicholas T Djordjevic, Dragutin (Emilia) Djordjevic and grandchildren Petar and Dana. He is also survived by two sisters' in law, Milena Djordjevic and Panda Bozinovski, nieces Mila (Zika) Jovanovic, Nada (Dragan) Markovic, Luba Djordjevic and Zlatka (Ljupco) Stavrevska and nephew Tashe (Paris) Bozinovski in addition to each of their children, relatives, godchildren and many friends. Funeral services for Tomislav will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the Mali Pomen at 7:00 p.m.
