Todd W. SimonsenRacine- Todd W. Simonsen, 47, died peacefully at Froedtert Hospital on June 6, 2007 after complications resulting from Lymphoma.Todd was born in Racine on December 10, 1959 to George and Laverne (nee: Radtke) Simonsen. A lifelong resident of Racine, Todd consistently exerted leadership in all he was involved in. He graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City with both a Bachelor and Masters Degree where he played and coached Big Ten division 1 football as a linebacker. He played in the 1982 Rose Bowl and achieved All Big Ten status throughout his career. Throughout high school Todd attained All City Player Caliber at Case High School. Most recently, he actively contributed to the Case High School football program as a volunteer coach and weight training specialist. Todd established a nationally recognized Ameriprise Financial Planning Practice serving over 300 clients and developing over 18 now well established advisors. Todd was a loving father, spouse, and an avid Buffalo County land owner and hunter.Todd is survived by three beautiful children, Rachel (Chad) Durfey, Scott Simonsen, and Kathryn Simonsen; former spouse of 21 years, Julie Simonsen; mother, LaVerne Simonsen; siblings, Gary (Sue) Simonsen, Donna Zaeske, Carol Holland, Jean Goers, Debra (John) Halverson, and Judy Simonsen. He is also survived by his special hunting buddies. Todd was preceded in death by his father and a sister Terry Davis.Funeral services for Todd will be held at Grace Church, 3626 Hwy. 31 on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. John officiating. Private family interment will take place in Country Haven Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial to the family would be appreciated.
