Todd E. SandlebackRacine- Todd E. Sandleback, age 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the home of his daughter in West Bend on Wednesday, June 27, 2007.Todd was born on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941 in Prairie du Chien to Edward and Helene (nee: Pohlman) Sandleback . He served in the United States Navy in Company 419 on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Todd was employed by JI Case for 28 years where he was an active member of the UAW Local 180. He enjoyed an early retirement in 1992 at the age of 50, spending his leisure time with family and friends, working on various home projects, and keeping up on his favorite sporting events. He also continued to be involved in AA where he developed many lifelong friendships. Todd will be sadly missed by all who knew him for his sense of humor and good heartedness.He is survived by his daughters, Laura Sandleback, Angela Peeples, and Julie (Don) Kapla; grandchildren; Deborah, Madelyn, Nicholas, Jori, Jensen, and Ryan; mother, Helene Sandleback; sisters, Kathy (Pat) Cornford and Jill (Richard) Long; brother, Dave Sandleback; and nephews, Russ and Scott Long, and Alan Cornford and their families. Todd is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his special 'lady friend' Dale Lambert, father, Edward L. Sandleback, and childhood best friend, Gaylord 'Skip' Smethhurst.A visitation for Todd will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 2, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service. Private family entombment will take place at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy.32. The family wishes to send their appreciation to Todd's close neighbors and friends who were like a second family to him.
