RACINE – Thomas A. Cecchini, 84, passed away at Ascension all Saints Hospital on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Tom was born in Kenosha on May 17, 1932 to Adamo Louis and Nancy (nee, Copen) Cecchini. On September 15, 1956, Tom married the former Doris Swanson. He attended Bradford High School in Kenosha and played football with Alan Ameche. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Tom founded United Construction Corp., carried on today by his son and grandson. He was active in the community serving as President of the Village of Elmwood, served on the Board of Directors for the Taylor Home and North Side Bank. He was also Commodore of Harbor Lite Yacht Club, president of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion. Tom loved outdoor sports and was an avid golfer, boater, hunter and snowmobiler. Survivors include his wife, Doris Cecchini; sons, David (Kurri) Cecchini, Mark (Debby) Cecchini and Thomas M. (Paula) Cecchini; grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole), Adam, Michael (Brittany), Nicole, Ryan, Jessica, Nikolas, Dominic, Rachel (Rob), Katie (Nick), Laura and Ashley (Neil); and fourteen great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Deloris Splieth, Adam (Sandra) Cecchini, Val (John) Wilda and Dennis (Celeste) Cecchini. Tom is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan T. Anzalone; and his brother, Richard Cecchini. Funeral services for Tom will be held at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road, on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.
