Theresa M. KohtanenRacine- Theresa M. Kohtanen, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.Theresa was born in Canada on February 17, 1916 to John and Anna (nee: Ziel) Schwemlein. She married Theodore Kohtanen in 1938 in Iron Mountain, MI. He preceded her in death in 1979. Theresa enjoyed spending time at home with her family.She is survived by two daughters and son in law, Judith Kohtanen and June (Clyde) Hopkins; granddaughter, Erin Hopkins; grandson, Kurt Hopkins; and great grandchildren, Noah, Seth, Lily, Luke and Evan Hopkins. Theresa is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald and special sister in law and cousin, Elizabeth Kohtanen.Funeral service for Theresa will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
