RACINE – Theodore L. "Ted" Schmidt, 66, passed away at home on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Ted was born in Racine on January 26, 1951 to Carl and Nelma (nee, Turner) Schmidt. He retired from InSinkErator after many years. Ted loved going to sporting events especially Cubs games, boxing events and playing golf. He a Harley rider and an avid QVC shopper. Ted was very involved with everything in his children and grand children's lives. Survivors include his daughters, Gina (Michael Richetta) LaVora and Kelly (Ryan Bequeaith) Rowlette; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Grell, Lorelei LaVora, Nicole LaVora, Mason Rowlette and Bryce Rowlette; great grandchildren, Logan Grell, Christopher Grell, Leah Grell, Juliana Grell and Jeremiah LaVora; and his sister and brothers, Lana Stanton, Carl (Pam) Schmidt and John Schmidt. Ted is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for Ted will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.
