Sying S "Drew" Liu (劉興舜) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Racine, WI. He was 66 years old.
Drew was born in Yuanlin, Taiwan on April 4, 1959 to Chia Pei Liu (劉嘉培) and Yu Tsue Chang (張玉枝), the third of five children.
He was a clever, multi-talented student, attending the prestigious Taichung High School, where he excelled in English. He then attended Tatung University in Taipei, and after graduation, he began work at Tatung Company. This eventually led him to a Masters degree in industrial engineering at University of WI-Milwaukee where he met his wife, Sherry. Here in the US, naturalizing in 1986, he adopted the name Drew, using his humor and wit along with business acumen to successfully start and manage multiple companies in his lifetime.
He deeply loved his family, both here in the States and Taiwan, working diligently and tirelessly to protect and take care of those around him. He loved a good buffet meal with family, watching the Packers, traveling (for fun), and teaching others about his native language and culture. He was a lifelong learner, curious about any and all subjects. Adept in three spoken languages—clever and funny—he was able to create jokes on the spot that somehow worked in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. Drew was a fiercely devoted son, husband, brother, father, businessman, jack of all trades, and will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Sherry, daughter Jennifer (Eugene), son Andrew, and mother Yu Tsue, amongst other close and beloved relatives both in Taiwan and the US. He was preceded in death by his father Chia Pei.
