Susan Theresa Capobianco Eisenbart
September 7th, 1959-April 20th, 2026
Compassionate, Funny, Protector, Helper, Lover of people and animals, Fighter of injustices,
Susan passed away in the early hours of April 20th after a long illness.
Born in St. Claire Shores, MI to Jean Harmon Capobianco, Susan enjoyed a carefree childhood until her mother passed away suddenly when Susan was 8. She moved to Racine, WI to join her uncle Bob Harmon’s family and suddenly had 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a new last name.
Susan attended Fratt, St. Ed’s, St. Catherine’s and Walden High School. Susan was a Girl Scout and attended Camp Singing Hills for several summers. She marched with the Ambassadears Drum Corps and took classes at Wustum Museum. She also played the stand-up Bass, lugging it back and forth to school.
In 1981 Susan became a mom giving birth to Joe and raised him on her own until she
met her sweetheart Rick Eisenbart and married in 1988. They started a family; first came Angela and then Nick to join their brother Joe. They lived in Memphis but returned to Racine to be nearer to family. They joined St. Edwards Catholic Church and attended mass regularly. Susan went to beauty school and worked as a beautician at JCPenny’s in the beauty salon and then Lincoln Luthern Convelesent Center where she worked until 2003 doing hair for the ladies (she even brought those who had no family home for the holidays).
Susan loved to sing and later got involved with Racine Cardiac Capers. And of course Karoke with friends. She was an avid gardener, tending to her flowers religiously.
She had an adventurous streak and got her motorcycle license and rode a lot one summer.
Family was everything to Susan as were her friends and animals (dogs, cats and birds). She opened her home to so many in need, letting them stay rent free until they got on their feet.
And she tried to rescue every stray animal who came along.
Oh, and she loved to laugh.
Rick died suddenly in 2003 and Susan was left to raise the kids and manage the household on her own.
Susan’s health began to deteriorate, losing part of her lung and spending many hours in the emergency room. In 2020 she had surgery to repair her leaking lung but never fully recovered.
Her son Nick took care of Susan throughout the last years. Many hospice care nurses helped too. One of the hardest things for Susan during this time was not being able to belt out her favorite songs.
Susan’s laughter and love will be missed dearly by the many family and friends she left behind.
After spending many years trying to find her birth dad she finally did a few years ago but he had passed but she did find several half-sisters.
Susan leaves behind her children Joseph Capobianco (Jessica), Angela Eisenbart and Nicolas Eisenbart, a step-daughter Tracy Pietsch, and grandchildren Savannah and Brooklynn Wood, Ava Palubicki, Kaylynn and Kolvyn Kusters, Ethan and Holden Capobianco, Peyton Eisenbart; and 1 great-grandchild Kalilah Baker and step-grandchildren Ashli Carlson and Andrew Caskey (Catie) as well as her Sis/Cuz’s Hetty Harmon(Paul) and Kimman Harmon(Connie) and her Bro/Cuz Tom Harmon. And her two constant companions, her cats Italy and Rosie. She was preceded in death by her mother Jean Harmon Capobianco, her husband Rick Eisenbart, brother-in-law Terry Eisenbart and her mother-in-law Mae Eisenbart , her “mom” Barbara Harmon and “dad” Robert Harmon as well as her Bro/Cuz’s Tim Harmon and Ted Harmon.
Services will be held at Purath-Strand on April 28th with visitation starting at 5pm.
Susan will be with us always.
