View Video Tribute Racine – Stella A. Perekovich, nee, Skover, 90, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Stella was born in Racine on March 31, 1921 to Alex and Olga Skover. She has been a lifelong resident. Stella graduated from Wm. Horlick High School in 1938. She married Frank Victor Perekovich in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1973. Stella retired in 1984 from Walker Mfg. Co. where she was supervisor of the Catalog Department. Stella was a charter member of the National Catalog Managers Association, where she served in various officer positions. She also served in the Racine Advertising Club and was awarded the Silver Medal for Advertising Person of the Year in 1988-89. Stella was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Ladies Club at the Church, Lincoln Lutheran Auxiliary and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She played the Accordion in several bands for many years and taught private music lessons. Her hobbies included, bowling, golf, sewing, bridge and schafkopf. Stella traveled extensively around the world. Survivors include her children, Frank N. (Marilyn) Perekovich of Racine, Katherine (Ronald) Hanson of Davis, CA and Donald J. (Theresa) Perekovich of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren, Terri (David) Marcell of Wausau, DeDe Albright of Racine, Arne (Sorrel) Hanson, Gail (James) Hoffman, Olaf Hanson, Erik Hanson and Lani (Eric) Eckman all of California, and Kelly (Eric) Zeitler of Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Justin Heinkel, Emily Albright, Liam and Caelan Zeitler, Gunnar Hanson, and Bjorn and Adele Eckman. Stella is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tina Katrosits; and brothers, Nick Skover, Sr. and Alex Skover. Funeral services for Stella will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3011 Erie St., on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Roger Black officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Lincoln Village and Hospice Alliance for their kind and compassionate care for Stella.
