Racine – Shirley M. (nee, Morgenson) Zamecnik, 85, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Friday, November 2, 2012. Shirley was born in Racine on December 14, 1926 to Charles and Velore (nee, Frham) Morgenson. She married Harold J. in Racine on May 29, 1959 and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1991. Shirley was a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and a member of the Victorian and Sisterhood of the Traveling Red Hat Society. Survivors include her children, Pamela (Robert) Beckett of MN, Alan Zamecnik of Wild Rose and Dennis (Karen) Zamecnik; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth; grandson, Michael Beckett; and her five brothers. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Road on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 12 noon. Private family interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for all of their care and compassion.
