Shawn C. Douglas, 71, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Shawn was born in Racine on January 2, 1955, to Billie and Shirley (nee: Anderson) Hunter. She graduated from Park High School and went on to earn her interior design degree from Gateway College. Shawn married the love of her life David Douglas at Emmaus Lutheran Church on June 11, 1977.
Shawn was a creative and artistic soul.
Her creativity could be seen in everything from how she lived and listened to how she loved and made others feel.
She enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, and had a natural artistic ability whether it be painting, drawing or crafting.
She was the queen of Christmas and looked forward to corvette club with her husband and outings with the girls from Park.
But her greatest pleasure
was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and cuddling with her dogs.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Home was warmer because of her presence and life was richer because she was in it.
Shawn is survived by her beloved husband Dave Douglas, Children Lauren Douglas, David ( Julietta ) Douglas and Katie (Matthew) Albrecht, grandchildren Elisa, Erik and Logan Douglas and Amelia Albrecht, Mother Shirley Velzka, sister Sheri Lewis and brother Kevin Hunter and sister in law Suzanne Vyvyan as well as many other relatives and friends.
