Freed from pain, RuthVera Schultz slipped herearthly bonds on February4, 2018, and claimedher place in heavenpromised to her by herpersonal Lord and Savior,Jesus Christ.Ruth was born thefourth of five children onMay 30, 1933 to Harveyand Margaret Mahnke. Atthe time of her birth, thisday was known as DecorationDay but it was laterchanged to Me morial Day. She married the love ofher life, David G.Schultz, on May 30, 1953, her twentiethbirthday. She would have cele brated 65 yearstogether with him this spring.Ruth was employed by Color Arts, Inc. for 25 years,retiring as Purchasing Manager. Following retirement,Ruth and David camped their way acrossAmer ica and Canada in the 'Burgundy Bucket', visitingfamily, and meeting and making many goodfriends along the way. They were in Canada on September11, 2001 and were impressed and grateful forthe hospitality and compas sion extended to themduring that time.Ruth is survived by her hus band, David; her son,Jeffrey (Marissa) Schultz; her daughters, Merry(Steve) Mertins and Susan (Glenn) Rollins; fivegrandsons, Adam (Kate) Schultz, Austin (SeanRodford) Schultz, Timothy (Katelyn) Rollins, Jarid(Amy) Rollins, and Caleb (Fiancee Cas sandraPaulsen) Rollins; one granddaughter, Emily Mertins;and great-grandchildren, Max and Lia Schultz. She isalso sur vived by her sister, Dorothy Croll, andbrother, William (Jude) Mahnke, her formerdaughter-in-law, Amy Larsen, and family and friends too nu merous to mention. She was precededin death by her par ents, brother John Mahnke, sis terand brother-in-law, Marjorie and Bert Sjostrom,sister-in-law, Jan Mahnke, and brother-in-law Rev.Gilbert Croll.Visitation will be held at 10:00am Saturday, February10, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1501 ErieStreet with the funeral immediately following in thechurch at 11:00am. Memorials may be given to RacineLutheran High School in her memory, as she wasa proud graduate of the school and a part of the firstgraduating class from their cur rent building.The family would like to ac knowledge and thankthe staff at Ascension-All Saints for their kind andcompassionate care for Ruth.
