RACINE – Ruth L. Dickerson, 86, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Ruth was born in Racine on April 12, 1928 to Edward and Bessie (nee, Christiansen) Bittorf. She graduated from Wm. Horlick High School in 1946. On September 19, 1959, Ruth married Charlesworth L. Dickerson, celebrating forty-six years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2006. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 67 years and was also a member of a Bible Study group for over thirty years. She was also a member of the Ridge Runners Square Dance Club, loved reading, camping and gardening, but most of all she was devoted to her family. Survivors include her sons, Laurence Dickerson and Bruce (Amy) Dickerson; grandchildren, Catherine Dickerson and Andrew Dickerson; and her niece, Suellen (Roy) Gregg and their family. Ruth is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Lloyd Bowman. Memorial services for Ruth will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. Entombment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or the Wounded Warrior Project.
