OMAHA, NE - Rosemary Smith, age 84, of Omaha/Council Bluffs, passed away June 7, 2015 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Millard, Nebraska. Rosemary was born October 8, 1930 in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Tony and Lucy (Kaprelian) Akgulian. She graduated from Horlick High School, Racine in 1948. Rosemary married Clarence Smith on November 21, 1951. They made their home in the Omaha/ Council Bluffs area for many years. Rosemary was a homemaker and worked several years as a cashier at World of Foods. She was a member of St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Smith in 1994; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Avak Akgulian and sister, Tondee Akgulian. Rosemary is survived by her son, Mike (Patty) Smith of Omaha; daughter, Debbie Smith of Racine; son, Jerry (Dina) Akgulian of Bartlett, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Martha Kargenian of Racine; other relatives and many dear friends. A visitation for Rosemary will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning, June 13, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father Yeprem Kelegian and Deacon Stan Sheridan officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery with a lunch following at the church. The family will direct memorial contributions.
