Rose B. StaszewskiRacine- Rose B. Staszewski, 91, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Tuesday, February 12, 2008.Rose was born in Cook County, Illinois on August 4, 1916 to Joseph and Rose (nee: Caruso) Perino. On September 2, 1950 she was united in marriage to Walter Staszewski. He preceded her in death in February 2000. Rose enjoyed playing bingo and traveling.She is survived by a nephew, Richard (Kathy) Bertola and a niece, Laurine (John) Haas. Rose is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Joseph Perino; sister, Sarah Bertola and niece, Rosemarie Falkner. Mass of Christian burial for Rose will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday evening at the church from 6:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials to Masses at St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested. The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Terrace, 3rd floor nursing staff at Wheaton Franciscan, and Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for all the care and compassion shown to Rose.
