Obituary

RACINE – Ronald F. Betker, 77, died at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center onTuesday, December 20, 2016.Ron was born in Racine, WI, on April 16, 1939 to Felix and Genevieve (nee, Czosnek) Betker. He was a graduate of St. Catherine's H.S. and Carthage College. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Fraker, in 1964. Ron retired from Western Publishing Company after 38 years, was a member of the Western Publishing Retirement Committee, and enjoyed playing cards with his fellow retirees. He was also a member of the Racine Jaycees, the Johnson Wax Chorus, and Bookbinder's Union #223. Ron was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and was the #1 Park H.S. basketball fan.Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; children, Ann (Mark) Widmar, Laura (Kyle Kewenig) Betker and James (Allyson) Betker; grandchildren, Max and Emma Widmar, Alexis, Grace, Cameron, Addison and Cole Betker. Ron is also survived by other relatives and many friends.A memorial Mass for Ron will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 6400 Spring Street, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 6 p.m. Interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Full Military honors. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Tuesday, January 3rd, from 3:00 until the time of Mass at 6:00 p.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
