Racine – Dr. Roger T. Rosenberg, 79, passed away at home on Thursday, October 7, 2010, entering life eternal with his Savior, Jesus. Roger was born in Milwaukee on September 20, 1931. He attended Horlick High School, Lincoln College and Illinois College of Optometry. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Patricia Bronson August 21, 1954. Roger, an optometrist, was owner of Racine Optical Company. He enjoyed seeing his patients and giving them excellent and personalized care before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Southeastern Wisconsin Optometric Society for over 45 years and a member of the Rotary Club for 40 years. Roger had also served on various boards at St. John's Lutheran, Peace Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churches. He also enjoyed classic cars. Family was most important to Roger and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Roger is survived by his wife, Patricia Rosenberg; children, Lynn (Michael) Stowe, Dr. Dean (Elizabeth) Rosenberg and Kurt (Christa) Rosenberg; grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, Sondra, Claire, Anna and Erin; sister, Nancy Leslie; and sister-in-law, Bettye Thompson. Roger is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertel Thompson and Louis and Wilma Rosenberg; and brother, Bert. Funeral services for Roger will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Racine Lutheran High School or Compassion.
