Racine – Roger J. "Jerry" Hilgenberg, 79, passed away at home on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Roger was born in Sheboygan on May 15, 1934 to Gottlieb and Emma (nee, Horn) Hilgenberg. He married the former Lucille A. Leffin. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2011. Roger served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1956. He was a Teamster from1958 until his retirement in 1991, working most of his career with Best Block. Survivors include his children, Debra M. Hilgenberg and Jim (Alma) Hilgenberg; grandchildren, Kimberly (Matthew) Manke, Gary Lowell Sweet, and Tina, Lisa, Frances, Alice and Jamie Hilgenberg; great-grandchildren, April Elizabeth, Michael Jacob and Carly Francesca Manke; his brother, Steven (Marge) Hilgenberg and a niece, Jenny Laufer. Roger is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Katherine Ann Hilgenberg. Funeral services for Roger will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, September 13, 2013 at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
