Rochelle A. Tennessen, 72, passed away at Froedtert Hospital on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Rochelle (Shelly) was born in Racine on December 15, 1952, to Robert and Doris (nee: Sorenson) Morrison. She attended Wm. Horlick high school, where she was a member of DECA, and graduated in 1971. Shelly married Rick Tennessen in 1978. She was employed at RUSD as a teacher's aide, Jefferson Lighthouse as a science Liaison, Zarye's as a head cashier, and she opened her home as a childcare provider. She was a Girl Scout leader for 7 years and a Tucker 4-H leathercraft leader for 26 years. Shelly was a giving person with a huge heart, also helping others. She was a supporter of various charitable organizations. Shelly liked all things in nature, walking around the zoo and all types of outdoor activities.
Shelly is survived by her husband Rick Tennessen, daughter Breanna Craig, grandchildren Ananda Tennessen, Lilian Jensen and Reese Craig, brothers Robert (Cherie) Morrison, Randy (Maryann) Morrison and Roger (Ferlie) Morrison and sisters Lona (Tom) Christiansen, Dawn Hope and Andrea Morrison. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Shelly was preceded in death by daughter Carina Tennessen, brothers Phil, James and Rick Morrison and sister Charlotte Helman.
A celebration of Shelly's life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Relatives and friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A service for Shelly will be held at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards purchasing a Racine Zoo Memorial Bench, in Shelly's name.
