Racine – Robert "Bob" Shelbe Otto Waterfield, 81, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Bob was born in Dam Neck, VA on 14 September 1927 to Otto and Beatrice Waterfield. He married the former Maribeth Zivicki in Racine on May 12, 1972. Bob retired from the U.S. Air Force following which he was employed by Sears for over twenty years, retiring in 1983. Bob was an extremely active member of St. Rita's Parish where he served on various committees including the Parish Council, Parish Finance Committee and the School Board. Bob is survived by his wife, Maribeth Waterfield; children, Chrystal (Jim) Rosso, Kimberly (Dan) Quintanilla, Mandy (Todd) Morrison, Robert E. (Stephanie) Waterfield, Carrie (Raymond) Vos, Robert (Amelia) Waterfield and Patricia Rickenbaugh; and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Lillie, Jaime, Sabrina, Robert, Isaiah, Ava, Kyle, Alexandra, Joseph, Marianne, Monica, Krisi, Chuck, Allison and Abby. Bob is also survived by great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be held at St. Rita Parish, 4339 Douglas, Avenue, on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Stobba, O.S.A. officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Rita's Parish. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane and his staff and to the nursing staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for all of their care and compassion throughout Bob's journey.
