Obituary

Robert H. ThielkerRacine – Robert H. Thielker, 89, passed away at Willowcrest Care Center on Saturday April 23, 2011. Bob was born in St. Louis, MO on June 19, 1921 to Herman and Doretta (nee Boester) Thielker. He graduated from high school in St. Louis in 1939. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. After the war he attended the Missouri School of Mines before transferring to Marquette University in Milwaukee, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. On September 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Alice Moeller in Watertown, WI. After a varied career as an Electrical Engineer, Sales Manager, and Manufacturer's Representative, Bob started Vista Equipment Company in Crawfordsville, IN. During his years in Crawfordsville, he was a member of Rotary International and of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. After moving to Racine in 2003, he became a very active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church as well as the Parkinson's Support Group at Wheaton Franciscan - All Saints. Bob is survived by his wife, Alice Thielker, of Racine; children, Mark (Mei Chang) Thielker of Houston, TX, Tim (Dolly) Thielker of Milwaukee, and Susan (Dr. Richard) Pierce-Ruhland of Racine; grandchildren, Tom Thielker of Tennessee, Lt. Christina (Jeff) Lakey of DelRio, TX, Jonathan Pierce-Ruhland and Samuel Pierce-Ruhland, both of Racine; one great-grandchild, Nikolai Thielker; his sister Lois (Herman) Denton of Los Angeles, CA and brother Edgar (Joyce) Thielker of Delaware. Bob is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.A memorial service for Bob will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4340 Six Mile Road, on Friday, May 6th, at 4:00 with Rev. Daniel Hinrichs officiating. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church at 3:00 on May 6th. Memorials may be directed to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church or the Parkinson's Support Group at Wheaton Franciscan - All Saints.The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Daniel Ross and Dr. Desiree Dizadji for their care of Bob over the past several years as well as Dr. William Dasovic, Dr. Marc Catherall and the entire hospitalist staff at Wheaton Franciscan - All Saints for their heartfelt care and compassion during Bob's hospitalizations there.
