Robert Ellsworth OlsonRacine- Robert E. Olson, 82, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Wednesday, March 21, 2007.Bob was born in Menasha, WI on December 27, 1924 to Harry E. and Agnes (nee: Kosloski) Olson. He married Julia Lee on February 21, 1948. Bob served his country in the United States Army during WW II. Bob had a passion for golf and enjoyed gardening, traveling with his wife in his motor home, and wood carving. He was an avid reader of civil war history. Bob was a member of WW II Museum in New Orleans and the Anzio Society. He is survived by his wife, Julia Olson; four children, Sue (Dick) Davis, Robert Olson, Jr., Gail Olson, and Michael Olson; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Helen (Bob) Erffmeyer and Trudy (Bob) Thompson. A memorial service for Bob will be held at the Purath-Strand funeral home on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association have been suggested.
