Robert A. Lovdahl, 85, passed away on March 28, 2022 at St. Monica's Senior Living, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Racine on April 9, 1936 to the late Alery Lovdahl and Virginia (nee: Stremen) Lovdahl. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Clarice Boerger on September 15, 1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church.Bob started his career as a tool and die maker, advancing to engineering which led him to starting his own successful business, Lovdahl Manufacturing. Bob proudly served as a Corpsman in the Naval Reserve. He was also active on many church boards and civic organizations such as Lincoln Lutheran and The Society of Plastic Engineers. He loved the game of golf and valued the friendships he made. Bob and Claire enjoyed traveling together to many wonderful destinations. Their most memorable times were spent with family and friends, including those at their cabin up north. Bob and Claire were blessed with four children; Peter (Mary), Julie (Mike) Sonnenberg, Leif (Debra) and Krista (Joseph) Van Bree. Grandchildren Emily and Matthew Lovdahl; Brian, Eric, Andrew and Ellen Sonnenberg; Jacob and Jessica Van Bree. Great grandchildren Charlotte, Clay, Etta, August, Sloane, Isla and Quinn Sonnenberg. Bob is survived by his brother, Richard (Alana); brother-in-law, Martin Boerger; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (John) Kamperschroer, Ruth (Marc) Erdrich and Pat (Al) Doerflinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sharon and his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Esther Boerger. Service for Bob will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, Racine, on Saturday, April 2 at 11:00AM. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Racine Lutheran High School. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of St. Monica's and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.
