RACINE – Robert J. Joncas, 85, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Bob was born in Marenisco, MI on October 9, 1929, the son of the late Albert and Esther (nee. Pratt) Joncas. He was one of 13 children. Bob was enlisted in the Army and served his country during the Korean War. He married the former Alice Lorenzini on July 21, 1956. Bob worked in the construction trades at both Nelson Construction and United Construction for over 40 years. After retirement, Bob enjoyed working at his brother's golf course (Woodland) for over 20 years. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice Joncas; children, Debbie (Gary) Pelky, Sandy Joncas, and Robert A. (Leah) Joncas; grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Joncas; and canine companions, Kremer and Charlie. In keeping with Bob's wishes, private family services will be held.In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wheaton Franciscan Hospice or St. Rita's Catholic Church in Racine have been suggested. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at both Wheaton Franciscan All Saints and Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
