Racine – Robert R. Bruno 91, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, September 14, 2012. Robert was born in Racine on May 13, 1921 to Pasquale and Amelia (nee, Albino) Bruno. He married the former Margaret Morgensen on November 24, 1956. Robert worked for Racine Hydraulics for more than twenty years. Robert's passion was music. He formed Bobby Bruno and his Orchestra and played for many years throughout the area. In his early years he played at the Elks Club where he met his wife, Margaret who was a singer. Robert was also an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughters, Kathleen (Rick) Bergles and Diane (Emilio) Savaglio; grandchildren, Mario Rodriguez, Erik Rodriguez, Ilena Savaglio and Christina Bruno; great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez and Jackson Rodriguez; and his sister, Phyllis LaFleur. Robert is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son; Robert R. Bruno, Jr.; and his sister and brothers, Albert Bruno, Eleanor Stalmok, Victor Bruno, Laurence Bruno and Louis Bruno.Funeral services for Robert will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 7 p.m. Entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Rita's Catholic Church or Ridgewood Care Center.The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Robert's caretakers on 1 East and 2 West at Ridgewood Care Center.
