RACINE- Richard L. Schilling, 77, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.Richard was born in West Salem, WI on March 5, 1938 to Oscar M. and Gladys (nee: Jones). He married Diane Oppmann. Richard served his country in the United States Navy retiring as a Chief Operations Specialist. He was employed at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee until his retirement. Richard was a member of the USS Vesole DDR-878 Association and enjoyed attending their yearly reunions. He liked to spend his free time woodworking, bike riding, reading, traveling and most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife, Diane Schilling; children, Michael (Kim) Schilling, Kelly (Michael) Monahan, and Laura Schollmeier; grandchildren, Zachary Veronica, Natalie and Abigail Schilling, Jacob and Alex Monahan and Austin Schollmeier; brothers, Marlin (Pamela) Schilling and Dennis (Kathy) Schilling and sister, Judith (James) Morzinski. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial Mass for Richard will be held at St. Mary's by the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Drive, on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Stradinger officiating. Inurnment will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 12 noon until the time of Mass.
