RACINE – Richard A. Hohnl, Sr., 71, passed away at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee on Monday, April 24, 2017 with his family at his side. Dick was born in Milwaukee on May 29, 1945 to Kurt and Laverne (nee, Hackstein) Hohnl. On July 8, 1972, he married the former Patricia Carey. Dick retired from S.C. Johnson & Sons. He loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing, especially his yearly fishing trips to Canada for the past 52 years. He was a family man, sharing his love for the outdoors with his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed his many trips to Michigan on his ATV and spending time at his cottage on Lake Winnebago. Dick also enjoyed bowling and model trains. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; sons, Richard (Tina Christensen) Hohnl, Jr., Michael (Melissa) Hohnl and Ryan (Liz) Hohnl; grandchildren, Nathan, Jack, Lindsey, Ian and Lilly; his sister, Diana (Chuck) Woodring; and brother, Gary (Beth) Hohnl. Dick is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for Dick will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Peggy Carey and Pam Cramer for the great times spent four wheeling and being there at our side these past five weeks.
