Richard S. Arndt, 78 passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 in his home. Following battles with idiopathic transverse myelitis and ALS; he rests comfortably in his Savior's arms.
He was born in Milwaukee on April 19, 1947 to Emanuel and Ruth (nee: Zabel) Arndt.
Dick was a 1965 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School. He earned his B.S. from the University Wisconsin Milwaukee.
Dick proudly served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator on a special forces A-team earning the rank of Sergeant First Class until his honorable discharge.
On March 14, 1986 Dick married Julie Leinberger.
He was employed with S.C. Johnson as a laboratory technician.
Dick loved being outdoors in God's creation; biking, camping, hiking, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Julie Arndt; his 5 children- 4 from his first marriage: Richard (Nancy) Arndt, Jennifer (Corey) Dineen, Kristin (Ian) Stewart, James (Rachel) Arndt; and son Jonathan (Emmie) Arndt; his 15 grandchildren;1 great-grandchild and his sister Kathleen (Thomas) Marten.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Robert Arndt and his grandson Everett Arndt.
A memorial service for Dick will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Church, 1520 Green Bay Road, Kenosha, WI 53144. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Private inurnment with full military honors will be held in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
