Rafael Hernández, de 45 años, padre amoroso, esposo e hijo falleció en Ascension All Saints en Racine, WI el lunes 28 de diciembre de 2020. Rafael nació en San Sebastián Teitipac, Oaxaca, México; hijo de Joel Hernández (finado) y Marciala Gutiérrez Láscarez. Rafael vino a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía 16 años y vivió con sus tíos, Juan V. Ruiz y Consuelo Ruiz, quienes lo amaban como a su propio hijo. Rafael se graduó en 1994 de la Escuela preparatoria de Washington Park. Trabajó en el restaurante DISH and Apple Holler como cocinero. Aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocer a Rafael, lo percibían como un hombre amable, trabajador, amoroso, siempre dispuesto a entregar el alma en las actividades que realizaba. Adoraba a su familia y hacía cualquier cosa por la felicidad de su esposa y sus tres hijos. Rafa era un padre ejemplar, muy atento y cariñoso. Fuera del trabajo, a menudo se le veía trabajando en proyectos de la casa con su esposa o haciendo las tareas escolares con sus hijos, además de enseñarles lecciones valiosas de la vida.En 2017 Rafael fue diagnosticado con linfoma de Mantel Cell Etapa 4. Después de varias sesiones de quimioterapia, Rafael entró en remisión y continuó la inmunoterapia. A principios de 2020, cuando el COVID 19 golpeó, Rafael tomó la cuarentena como un regalo para pasar más tiempo con su familia. Todos los días, siempre positivo, Rafael disfrutaba mucho de su esposa e hijos. Las lecciones de vida que Rafael enseñó a sus hijos hasta el final se hicieron más frecuentes y profundas, a medida que comenzó a prepararlos para una vida sin su presencia física.Rafael falleció a consecuencia de una infección por neumonía severa el 28 de diciembre de 2020. A Rafael le sobreviven su esposa, Josefina Martínez; sus hijos, Rafael Hernández Jr (17), Gerardo Hernández (13), Andrés Hernández (9) y sus sobrinos quien consideraba sus hijos- Elmer Trejo (13), Yereni Antonio (18), Ángel Antonio (15), y Christopher Antonio (10).A Rafael también le sobreviven: Marciala Gutiérrez Láscarez, Graciela Hernández Gutiérrez, Lorena Hernández Gutiérrez, Consuelo Ruiz, Juan V. Ruiz, Ivonne García Ruiz, Juan J. Ruiz, Carina Ruiz y Alma R. Ruiz. Aunque su cuerpo físico nos ha dejado, su espíritu siempre será una guía que continuará viviendo dentro de nosotros. Rafael was born in San Sebastian Teipipac, Oaxaca, Mexico to Joel Hernandez (deceased) and Marciala Lascarez Gutierrez. Rafael came to the United States when he was 16 years old and lived with his aunt and uncle, Juan and Consuelo Ruiz, who loved him like a son of their own. Rafael was a 94' graduate of Washington Park High School. He worked at the DISH Restaurant and Apple Holler as a cook. Those who had the privilege of knowing Rafael, knew him as a kind, hardworking, loving, and giving soul. He adored his family and would do anything for his wife and three boys. Rafa was a very attentive and loving dad. Outside of work, he was often seen working on house projects with his wife, working on homework with his kids, and teaching them valuable life lessons. In 2017 Rafael was diagnosed with Mantel Cell lymphoma Stage 4. After several rounds of Chemotherapy, Rafael went into remission and continued immunotherapy. Earlier in 2020, when COVID 19 hit, Rafael took quarantine as a gift to spend more time with his family. Every single day Rafael enjoyed his wife and kids greatly. The life lessons Rafael taught his boys until the very end became more frequent and more profound as he began to prepare them for a life without his physical presence. Rafael passed from a severe pneumonia infection on Dec. 28, 2020. Rafael is survived by his wife, Josefina Martinez, his sons, Rafael Hernandez Jr (17), Gerardo Hernandez (13), Andres Hernandez (9), and his nephews whom he considered his children; Elmer Trejo (13), Yereni Antonio (18), Ángel Antonio (15), and Christopher Antonio (10).Rafael is also survived by Marcial Lascarez Gutierrez, Graciela Hernandez Gutierrez, Lorena Hernandez Gutierrez, Consuelo Ruiz, Juan V Ruiz, Ivonne Garcia Ruiz, Juan Ruiz Jr, Carina Ruiz, and Alma R. Ruiz. Though his physical body has left us, his guiding spirit will continue to live within us.
