Oak Creek, WI – Patricia Mae "Pat" Rankin, 82, formerly of Waukegan/Gurnee, IL, was born into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on July 29, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.Pat was born in Beloit, WI on Feb. 24, 1929 to John and Elizabeth (nee: McClellan) McCauley. She married S/SGT Glenn M. Rankin, USMC at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI on Dec. 6, 1952. Her one true love preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1992. Pat was a long time civil servant at Great Lakes Naval Base. Pat was a member of Prince Of Peace Luth. Church in Waukegan, IL. She relocated to Racine, WI, to live with her daughter, and became a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. She also lived at St. Monica's Asst. Living until she was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2011 when her daughter provided hospice care in her private residence. Pat touched so many lives with her generous heart and had abounding love for everyone in her life. Pat was the best Mom to her children and so many others.Pat is survived by two sons, Mark Rankin (Alice), Scott Rankin (Barbara); one daughter, Beth Rankin (Frank Contee); grandchildren John Rankin (Jeanne), Alexander (AJ) Rankin, Jacob Walter, Sasha Torres (Brandon), Emie Rankin, and Megan Maddex and several great grandchildren. A funeral service for Pat will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 4701 Erie Street, Racine, WI 53402, on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Terry McGugan officiating, with a reception to celebrate Pat's life to follow. Interment will take place Tuesday morning at Highland Memorial Park in Gurnee, IL where Pat will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Glenn. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. and again at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
