Racine – Patricia A. Devine, 73, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, January 25, 2013. Pat was born in Racine on April 29, 1939 to Alfred and Selma (nee, Ruppel) Sorensen, Sr. On March 28, 1964, Pat married Michael T. Devine. She love reading and was owner and operator of The Book Rack at Westgate Mall. Pat was very compassionate and loved her friends, but most of all she loved dotting on her grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband of forty-eight years, Michael T. Devine; children, Deanna (Scott) Cook, Michelle Devine and Kerri (Andy Gyarmaty) Devine; grandchildren, Taylor and Tommy Agricola, Kramer and Kelsey Cook; and her brothers, Alfred (Sandy) Sorensen, Jr., Dennis (Patricia) Sorensen and Timothy (Barbara) Sorensen. Pat is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services for Pat will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 31, 2013 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Mary Janz officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Emmaus Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane, his staff and the nurses and staff from Hospice Alliance and Ridgewood Care Center for all of their care and compassion.
