Obituary
Ona Belle Heried (nee: Stalsberg), 92, passed away at Ascension Spring Street Campus with her loving family by her side.
Ona was born December 18, 1931, to Otis and Borghild Stalsberg near Westby, WI. She was raised by loving foster parents Nancy and Guy McDowell. Ona attended Victory Grade School and graduated from Viroqua High School in 1950. On November 10, 1950, she married Oscar Heried and moved to Racine, where they raised five children. Ona worked at Oster, Voorlas manufacturing and Great Northern Corp, retiring in 1994. She loved reading, sewing upholstery, puzzles and time with her family and friends. Ona was proud of all her family.
She is survived by her five children Robert (Laetitia) Heried, Jacquelin (Todd) Dunham, Dan (Cyndi) Heried, Lori Chiappetta and Thomas (Michelle) Heried, grandchildren Matt, Sara, Kate, Jessie, Jenny, Tony, Nick, Abby, Emilie, Danni, Chad and 17 great grandchildren, sister Lois Bean and sister-in-law Alice Long. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Ona was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, grandson Caleb Johnson, granddaughter Amy Stensberg, brothers and sisters.
Private family services will be held. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the Racine County Humane Society or Charity of your choice have been suggested.
