Dorothy J. OlsonRacine- Dorothy J. Olson, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare with her family by her side.Dorothy was born in Racine on December 10, 1918 to Ervin C. and Hannah (nee: Pansch) Koehler. On September 6, 1941 she married Marvin W. Olson. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the Shoop and Johnson Park golf clubs. Dorothy was also a tennis player and a member of the Racine Indoor Tennis Club. In her younger years she was in various bowling leagues. Dorothy was a pitcher for Racine Amateur softball teams. Most importantly she loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Marvin W. Olson of Racine; daughter and son in law, Joanne and Kenford Nelson; grandchildren, Nicole Nelson and her husband Chris Kiczek all of Novi, MI and Erik Nelson and his wife, Stephanie of Woodburn, IN and great grandchildren, Kaleb (age 11), Isabelle (age 6), and Karys Nelson (age 3). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Geraldine Clunie.Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Heinert officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association or One's favorite charity have been suggested.
