Norman R. Janecky Racine - Norman R. Janecky, 77, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Sunday, October 21, 2007. Norm was born in Racine on January 20, 1930. He married the former Nancy M. Nau at Bethany Methodist Church on December 31, 1949. She preceded him in death on August 9, 2001. Norm worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company for over 39 years, retiring in September 1987. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Norm enjoyed many special lifelong friendships, spending time with his Friday morning breakfast group, and golfing with his buddies in both the Tuesday and Wednesday morning retiree golf leagues.Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Michael (Lisa) Janecky; three daughters and two sons in law, Debra (Patrick) Brannon and Gail (Richard) Olle and Susan Janecky all of Racine; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Robert) West and Kyle Janecky, Brent, Stephanie, and Cory Marten, Beth and Byran Olle; and a sister and brother in law, Joan (Charles) Martin of Cottage Grove. Norm is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, James Martin.A memorial service for Norm will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 725 High Street with Rev. James F. Peters officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or One's Favorite Charity in Norm's name. Norm's family would like to thank the staff in the ICU at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare for the care and compassion given to the family.
