Nancy Sue Tyyska, age 85, passed away on Monday, January 19th, 2026.
She was born September 12, 1940 in Flemington, WV, daughter of the late Chester Paul Lane and Eva Lane. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A, Tyyska Sr., sisters Patricia Carter, and Sharon Reid, and step-daughter Janine LoCastro.
Surviving are her son James A. Tyyska Jr. and daughter-in-law Virginia Trevino Tyyska, step daughters Becky (Arnold) Potter, and Carol Tyyska. Also 4 grandchildren, David (Misty) Tyyska, Alex Tyyska, Anna Tyyska, and Eva Tyyska, great-grandchildren Tessa, Judah, Julien, Eli, Thea, and Eveanna, and multiple step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Nancy worked for the United States government at the Pentagon and Andrews Air Force base, JI Case, and the Racine Moose Lodge. She also served as President of the Volunteers in partnership at All Saints Hospital where she was a volunteer for many years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and Living Faith Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be held at Purath Strand Funeral Home, 3915 Douglas Ave. Racine, WI on Friday, January 30th, from 10 am to 12 pm. Funeral service will follow at noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32
In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations may be given to All Saints Cancer Center Garden of Hope or American National Cancer Research Center.
