RACINE – Monroe Thomas, 85, passed away at St. Luke's South Shore in Cudahy on Saturday, July 29, 2017. Monroe was born in Columbus, MS on March 1, 1932 to Monroe and Charlotte (nee, Rounds) Thomas, Sr. He married the former Georgia Bengtson, celebrating 49 years of marriage. Monroe was a local area businessman throughout his life. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Thomas; children, Jacqueline Brown of Racine, Larry Thomas of Columbus, MS, Jennifer (Richard) Thurman of Racine, Mark (Christi) Thomas of Mequon, and Bobby Thomas of Milwaukee and; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is also survived by three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law. Monroe was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Willie Thompson; and his brothers, Elzie Thomas and Lee Thomas. In keeping with Monroe's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be directed to the family or the Health Care Network. The family would like to expend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane and Dr. Brady Welsh and their staffs for all their compassionate care.
