RACINE – Mildred D. Yurk, (nee, Meissner), 94, passed away at Willowgreen Assisted Living Facility on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Millie was born in the Town of Raymond on April 5, 1921 to Gustav and Martha Meissner. She married Joseph Yurk who preceded her in death. Millie retired from Western Publishing after more than twenty years. In retirement she worked with her brother Glenn Meissner at his produce business in Franksville. Millie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a faithful volunteer and board member at The Lutheran High School Thrift Shops for many years. She was a member of the RLHS Ladies Guild, as well as several card clubs and especially enjoyed playing Sheeps Head. Survivors include her sister, Martha Olsen, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donette Geissner and Esther Buschke; and her brothers, Simon, Glenn, and Roy Meissner. Funeral Services for Millie will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 22 at 11am. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Racine Lutheran High School or Grace Lutheran Church.
